GENERAL

The SV series furnace operates at temperatures up to 1325ºC in air. This model has a multitude of bore shapes and ensures reliability and durability with a double-walled steel construction. The design is meant to provide a cooler exterior capable of maintaining its shape after repeated thermal cycling. The beauty of the Vulcan line is that it breaks the boundary of what a standard furnace is. With the Vulcan line, any size furnace is a standard furnace. The heating elements in no way limit the size or shape of the furnace. If there are dimensions that you require, Mellen can make them.

HEATING ELEMENTS

The SV series furnace utilizes Vulcan heating elements capable of 1325ºC in air. These elements use MPCT technology and can have virtually any shape bore: round, hexagonal, square, rectangular, triangular, diamond. The possibilities are endless!

There are four classifications of heating elements that can be used in the SV series; APM, FeCrAl, Chromel, and REH. APM heating elements are capable of temperatures as high as 1250ºC in air, while FeCrAl heating elements can achieve 1200ºC, and Chromel heating elements are capable of temperatures as high as 1100ºC in air. REH elements surpass them all. REH elements are capable of temperatures as high as 1325ºC in air.
